Tips for Valentines Day 2018!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

A lovely friend piped up yesterday to me “happy marketing of chocolate & flowers day!” Indeed….Valentine’s Day does seem to reflect yet another `have-to-holiday’, doesn’t it? Woe be it to anyone in a `romantic’ relationship who fails to buy their sweetheart yet another heart-shaped box of candy, especially the serotonin-producing- chocolate type. By the way—serotonin is the hormone which chemically does make us feel better in that moment. It’s only later with our bigger belly that we feel sluggish!

 In any case Valentines Day 2018 falls on the dark of the moon….and.. on Ash Wednesday the first day of Lent! The waning moon is the BEST day in the cycle to surrender, release and let go…of `something’ which is blocking us from our magnificence. Because the waning moon is in Aquarius I suggest you release some fixed idea, thought, or belief which just isn’t working. If you are having a problem identifying what I mean, close your eyes and see/feel/hear that fear-based thought which is always swirling inside your brain. The elephant inside your head– Yes, THAT thought!

Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar also reminds us to sacrifice something to remind us of the suffering of Jesus Christ. You don’t have to be a Christian to take a cue from this season. A sacrifice is whatever you MAKE sacred for a higher purpose. And of course, I think we would all agree that the highest purpose of all is love.

Which brings me back to Valentine’s Day. We all love LOVE when it’s all about the hearts and flowers. But all love has an element of sacrifice. We do for the beloved even if in that moment—we’d rather not. And here is another take on V-day. Whether you are in a `romantic relationship’ or not use the energy of this Day to sacrifice SOMETHING (maybe give up chocolate for lent? ) to make YOUR life healthier-more-balanced-and happier. And the dark-of-the-moon will help in this release! You can still give your sweetheart a rose, but, be sure to sacrifice (release) what needs to be released` to produce a better YOU. That better you is the gift that keeps on giving long after the `national marketing day of chocolate and flowers’ is over. Happy LOVE Day!

Super-Blue-Blood-Lunar Eclipse!

A SUPER moon=a full moon at its closest orbit to earth which creates a pinkish BLOOD red coloring and receives the title’ BLUE moon for being the second full moon in one calendar month. WOW! Today’s celestial show at 8:27 am EST created quite the stir worldwide for its beauty and rarity. Eclipses are portals of change. The lunar eclipse, which is the disappearance of the moon, creates emotional shifting. THIS particular eclipse reflects directly backwards to the cycle which was born in August; The `Great American Eclipse’, of 8/21/17.

Today’s Eclipse is the emotional back-splash of whatever intentions you set into motion way back in August. A full moon–any full moon- allows us to receive another perspective on our feelings. We see `better’ by the light of the full moon. The full moon is positioned directly across from the sun, and therefore gains us access to a different point of view.

Since August 3rd 2017, Uranus has been in a retrograde cycle; a time to re-think, re-do, and re-evaluate all the wondrous innovations we want to make in our lives. Brilliance is an excellent word for Uranus, and, it’s matched sign, Aquarius. And here is a key component; visualize what you are receiving. This cardinal t-square is all about out-picturing your ideas. Avoid judgement as you do. Super Moon Sunday: From Confusion to Clarity!

Look! Up in the sky! it’s not a bird! nor a plane, but, It’s SUPER MOON!

2017 ends with a full moon brighter than all others this year thanks to the moon being in perigee to the earth; a time when our lunar neighbor orbits closer to home than at any other time. As a result, the moon appears 7 percent larger and 16 percent brighter over the next two days.

The science of a perigee moon reflects the astrological meaning of this rare moon! The brighter the better we see. And, the focus of this full moon inspires us to blend both sides of our brain; the intuitive AND the logical side so we can flow from confusion to clarity.

This theme is reflected by the exact square (90 degrees) from the full moon to Neptune, within hours of the mercury retrograde. A square suggests a rebuild of a structure through sustained pressure. The moon/sun opposition, or full moon, creates a t-square to Neptune begging such questions as; `How much more of `this’ confusion can I take?  How can I deal with this pent-up feeling of overwhelm? Who do I trust? The sun/moon square to Neptune helps us to discern what’s real and what’s an illusion. Meanwhile, the retrograde mercury represents a time to suspend decision making and go within, reflect and reconsider.chartsupermoon

To further support this theme of inward/outward communication we consider the sign of the full moon, Gemini, which is ruled by mercury. Sign (Gemini) and planet (mercury) indicate all manners of mental processes, data collection, information and communication. Even the 11th degree of the full moon screams communication as the sabian symbol is “ A black slave girl demands her rights from her mistress.’ This symbol suggests we may have to `stand up for ourselves’ in the midst of some sort of power struggle with the powers that be. Another curious aspect of the full moon, of Sunday at 10:47 am EST, is that it will pass over one of the brightest stars in the sky; Aldebaran. Positioned smack in the middle of the constellation Taurus, Aldebaran is thought to be the `revelatory eye’ of the heavens associated with Archangel Michael.fixedstaraldebaraneyeof illumination Consider what YOUR eye is seeing; actually, and esoterically, within the seat of your imagining and creativity. This full moon could trigger a revelation of sorts for each of us, as it further inspires world leaders to `see the truth.’

We may be feeling as if we are floating in a dream during this time! What can ground us is the position of Mr. Grumpy Reality or Saturn positioned in the `galactic center’ as it finishes up its sojourn in Sagittarius. Planets at the galactic center are said to be conduits for extraterrestrial information. This will be magnified in just a week. Once Saturn and mercury conjunct, (come together) on December 6th, we are mobilized to `take a stand’ so like the message of the sabian symbol. Be brave and bold in demanding YOUR rights within a relationship, organization or community.

This full moon triggers us to do much reflective work in the realm of beliefs, philosophies and ideas. Refer to your past for clues. The mercury retrograde will inspire us to dig deep within. The Jupiter inconjunct to the full moon messes the celestial waters because it is an angle of adjustment. So much input/data, so little time.

Going forward, keep in mind the shining light of Aldebaran, the eye of the skies being activated by the brightest moon this year. We WILL get clear by the light of the full moon. Just be patient! Mercury’s retrograde asks us to `make sure’ before making the ultimate decision on things. The light of this special super moon will guide as we go along our path. November 13th – Super Moon

fullmoonoverwaterSo! take a peak at the SUPER MOON rising in the east friends.(Then tune into WKBW Channel 7 for my interview on this phenomenon at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm tonight!)

Why oh why? Cycles…simple cycles. The moon’s orbit swoops closer to earth. What makes tonight so special it that it hasn’t been this close (perigee) to our home planet since 1948!

All full moons offer us a chance to symbolically see another’s opposing point of view. Its a symbol of empathy…placing yourself in another’s shoes. Often there are high octane tension filled feelings just prior to the full moon. We feel out-of-control, and…angry at the `others’ who don’t see what we do.

full-moon-nov-14-16THI full moon in the sign of Taurus should do much to ground ourselves following a most surreal week. Life …indeed….seems changed.

The sabian symbol of THIS 22 degree Taurus moon is that of the `white dove flying over troubled waters.’ Healing time I hope & pray.
