Gemini the Twins – I Think
May 21 – June 20

The essence of Gemini is reflected in its name; the twins. We live in a dualistic world; up/down, day/night, hot/cold processing all of this reality with a dualistic brain. The left ( logical ) hemisphere interconnects with the right ( intuitive) hemisphere. Where we find Gemini in our charts is where we live this dichotomy of comparing and contrasting opposites. Thinking and communicating is the domain of Gemini. Some of us `think’ rationally and logically, others of us with our hearts and intuition. The way Gemini is activated in our charts describes the manner in which we process the world.

Gemini is an air sign like Libra and Aquarius. Air signs are known for having the similar qualities of social and intellectual traits; characteristics of being human. To be human is to create connections through communications based on cognition. Astrology reflects this point since it’s only the air signs in the zoo belt which are NOT depicted by animals.

The ruling planet of Gemini is mercury, `the messenger of the gods.’ Both the sign and the planet are described by quickness, mutability and changeability. The person with a strong Gemini signature is known for his witty and intelligent manner of speaking which reflects an active and curious mind. Too much of a good thing is too much; loquacious, superficial and gossipy.

Peter Pan…the boy who would not grow up embodies an archetype of Gemini energy. Peter Pan didn’t want to live within the confines of adult rules or regulations. Unbalanced Gemini equates with immaturity and the pursuit of pleasure over responsibility. Another image of Gemini includes the hummingbird flitting from blossom to blossom with wings beating faster than the eye can discern, or a butterfly resplendent in its winged beauty as it lands lightly here and there. Where you find Gemini you may have to train yourself to `calm down’ hyper dissociated activity and find a manageable pace or pulse. Meditation is an avenue of `Gemini training’.
